Headline – “12 Healthy Hair Habits You Should Adopt ASAP”

I came across this headline recently as I have been trying to find things to help my hair look healthier after dying it a couple of times and putting heat on it a lot. When looking on Google, I saw this headline, and I thought it resonated with what I was trying to find.

What makes this headline good and clickable is that the first thing I noticed was that it was going to be a list of habits they suggested because they used a number at the beginning of the headline. The headline uses the number 12, which is something different and more creative than using the number 10 or 15, so this can grab the attention of users.

This headline is very clear and to the point, telling the readers exactly what they can expect from the article. This will pull in the exact audience they are targeting, which is most likely women looking for ways to improve their hair health.

It also uses “You” in the headline, which addresses the reader and makes it more of a personal experience for them as they can relate even more to what the headline is. A reader like me sees “You” in the headline, and I think, “Yes, I do need to adopt some healthy hair habits,” so I should probably read this article as it resonates with the exact problem I have been trying to solve.

This headline is also a good length, so when readers are looking at it on Google, they can read the entire headline without any word cutoffs. The first three and last three words are essentially the most important to this headline. They start with the number, implying that this article will be a list of information along with the next words, “Healthy Hair,” so readers know what the purpose of this article is. The last three words are “Should Adopt ASAP,” which provides a sense of urgency by using the word ASAP and telling people that they should use these tips provided in the article to get healthy hair.

On the article, the headline stands out at the top of the page as it is in bolder, black text, larger than the rest of the copy. As we learned in class, “67% of people say black is the best choice to help them comprehend content.” This makes the headline visually better for the readers.

Overall, this headline used specific elements that made it good and resonate with me due to the keywords they used in it, as well as triggering my curiosity about the subject and making me want to learn more about the topic of hair, which I am interested in and how I can take the tips/habits to help make my hair healthier.
