Question 4
  1. For question #2, what did you do differently from the original post? Please outline, explain and justify what you changed & why. Essentially, what did you learn from this new topic and what did you change and why. (8 Marks)

What I did differently from the original post was summarize everything down so I only focused on the important parts needed and took out everything that didn’t feel necessary to have in an intro post.

The beginning first paragraphs of my original post basically talk about my business and how we make shopping for flowers very easy and then talk about what products we have to offer. I changed these paragraphs in the current post to make it shorter and just to talk about what business we have created and how shopping for flowers is going to make giving and receiving flowers much easier for those in the Windsor/Essex County area.

Then, I put a subheader of why people should choose us to shop from. In my original post I had a section like this, but it was more at the end of the post and basically talked about the benefits of flower subscriptions and deliveries. So, instead of having long paragraphs of this content, I took the three main reasons why we are so great and highlighted them in a list format. This made it much shorter and easier to read the exact three reasons we provided so they could get the point much faster. I also placed it more at the top of the post as I think it's important people understand what makes us so different and why they would benefit from us before they read any further because it would keep their attention and make them want to read more into what we have to offer. When we list the short reasons, we also provide a little information as to what we mean behind saying things like no stress, convenient, and always a surprise, so people have more of an understanding but we aren’t over-explaining ourselves either, which is good, once again limiting the number of words we use.

Next is another bolded subheader that states pre-designed bouquets and flower subscriptions so readers will know what section they are getting into now. This is different from the original post because I had two big sections regarding the flower subscription with instructions on how it works and important reminders, and then I had a section just talking about the different pre-designed bouquets. I put these two together because I want readers to clearly understand that these are the two different things we offer them that our business is known for. I simplified it much more and just created a list of the types of bouquets they could buy for the five different occasions and then listed the three different types of subscriptions people could choose from. I left it that simple because people aren’t going to want to read all the backstory behind how the subscriptions work and what they need to do. After all, that will be given to them on the website, and that is actually the place where they are going to be able to buy from, so I didn’t want to confuse them and give them more information than they needed.

The last thing I changed was my call to action at the end of my post, telling them to visit my website and start their shopping experience with the link. It's not that different from my original post I just used different words so they would feel like I am giving them the next step because I am telling them to go to the website.

My new post is much shorter and uses the F-pattern more properly. The only paragraphs of content I took out completely for my new post were not adding the how it works section and important reminders about the flower subscription section. I didn’t feel like these were needed in an introduction post, so I left them out. Everything else I talked about in my original post is still somewhat incorporated in my new one it's just very limited and shortened down to the most important information that way, it's easier for people to read and get the message faster.
